One general problem with WordPress for larger websites is bulkiness. There is a good bit of code processing that needs to take place for a page on your website to be served to the user. What this plugin does is a pretty simple trick to solve that problem. WordPress is awesome for hosting a standard website or a blog, but not so much for an eCommerce website. WooCommerce completely changes that part of WordPress by adding all the tools you’d expect out of an eCommerce platform, but in a more easy to understand and use fashion. If you’ve tried to setup an eCommerce platform like OpenCart before you know how confusing it can be. WooCommerce takes a lot of that confusion away by keeping the structure simple. You do, though, have to sacrifice some of the advanced features that an eCommerce platform would provide, but if your just selling a few things as an add on to your website you’ll not care one bit.
